Allegedly, Samsung received a patent for a system that will solve the image quality problem of under-screen cameras.
Samsung, Galaxy Z series received a patent for a new under-screen camera (UDC) technology that will enable better image capture than the optical sensors used in foldable smartphones. The new technology also aims to solve the image quality loss problems experienced by under-screen cameras.
According to the news Samsungwill use UDC technology in both its foldable phones and classic smartphones. Even possible rollable models are expected to come with this technology. The new patent offers a new and more performant way for UDC.
There will be fewer pixels on the camera
Samsung, for under screen camera According to the new patent, it will use a display driver to control the screen on the sensor. Thus, there will be fewer pixels on the camera and the cameras will be able to take clearer images. According to the patent, this camera technology can be slid, folded and rolled can be used on devices.
Thanks to the DDI chipset, when using the camera pixels around the sensor are turned off or it improves camera performance by showing a different image. In addition, the pixel density of the screen area is also reduced so that the sensor can receive enough light. To hide the camera, the screen brightness is increased.
In the new UDC has higher resolution and a larger sensor will be used. These improvements will also help improve image quality. On the other hand, it is not known when this sensor will appear in Samsung’s smartphones.
