MSI Z790 Project Zero Plus: Extreme overclocking and CAMM2

CAMM2 specifications MSI Z790 Project Zero Plus

Designed for extreme overclocking with Intel CPUs, MSI’s latest Z790 Project Zero Plus motherboard CAMM2It adopts . Considered an alternative to SO-DIMM for laptops, CAMM2 is a horizontally-mounted standard that can fit more memory on it. CAMM2 can also offer dual channel DDR5 performance with a single module.

For those unfamiliar, CAMM2 combines the capabilities of dual-channel SO-DIMM configurations into a single module, making it 64 percent smaller than traditional DDR5 SO-DIMM laptop configurations while still being able to utilize the entire 128-bit memory bus of today’s CPUs. Additionally, CAMM2 supports not only DDR5 memory modules but also LPDDR5X memory modules. Although the main purpose of this standard is to free up more space on laptops, it should not be forgotten that the standard is also compatible with desktops.
