Neil Druckmann Announced: Will Naughty Dog’s New Game Be The Last of Us 3?

Naughty Dog co-chairman Neil Druckmannclaimed that the development team’s next game is “perhaps their most exciting yet” and could “redefine the perception of mainstream gaming.”

In an interview at the Corporate Strategy Meeting held today, Druckmann talked about how he is working on his new dream project after helping develop several previous projects at Naughty Dog.

As interest in the video game industry increases, Druckmann says the main reason for this is the huge success of HBO’s The Last of Us series. Stating that they hope the first season of the series will “bridge the gap between gamers and non-gamers”, Druckmann stated that he expects the series to continue this success with the new season.

Naughty Dog’s New Game Could Attract New Audiences to Games

Stating that the new Naughty Dog game, which has not been officially announced yet, will also contribute to efforts to bridge this gap, Druckmann used the following statements on the subject:

In the statements made after the cancellation of The Last of Us Multiplayer, it was confirmed that Naughty Dog was working on an “ambitious and brand new single-player game”. There is a possibility that one of them will be The Last of Us 3, because Neil Druckmann previously announced that he had plans for a third game, but this will probably not be the studio’s next game.
