At CES 2025, Asus added two new models, 16-inch and 18-inch versions, to the ROG Strix Scar series, which raises the bar in the gaming world. These models are equipped with innovative features that take gamers’ performance and design expectations one step further. Devices that attract attention with both technical features and aesthetic details seem to shape the gaming laptop trends of 2025. In particular, the RGB lights surrounding the case of the devices and the user-programmable LED dot-matrix display on the cover strengthen the series-specific design language.
The new ROG Strix Scar models offer the highest level of hardware for performance enthusiasts. Both models can be configured with an Intel Core Ultra 9 275HX processor and Nvidia GeForce RTX 5090 GPU. These powerful components provide the ideal foundation for running today’s games and future releases at maximum settings. In addition, support for up to 64 GB DDR5-5600 RAM and 2 TB PCIe Gen4 SSD enables the devices to be used as a high-performance gaming and workstation. In addition to these features, the 16:10 ratio 2.5K Mini LED screen on the devices offers a superior experience in both gaming and media consumption with 1,200 nits brightness and 240 Hz refresh rate.
Advanced cooling and customizable design
These models attract attention not only with their performance but also with their cooling systems. Thanks to the cooling system with a full vapor chamber and special heat sink design, the devices manage to stay cold even during long-term use. Conductonaut Extreme liquid metal applied by Asus on the GPU and CPU effectively reduces the temperatures of these components, allowing the fans to operate at low noise. The company states that these advanced systems can keep fan noise during gaming at library level, that is, only around 45 dB.
On the design side, Asus has increased its personalization options with its customizable LED screen called AniMe Vision. This feature allows users to create their own animations or personalize the appearance of the device using ready-made templates. In addition, it is possible to maintain aesthetic consistency thanks to its synchronous operation with other AniMe Vision-enabled devices.
The new Strix Scar models also meet current needs in terms of ports. While two Thunderbolt 5 ports enable high-speed data transfer, the ability to easily open the bottom panel of the devices makes upgrades and maintenance practical. This detail stands out as an important advantage for gaming computer users.
In addition to these superior features, the new ROG Strix Scar models are also in the premium segment with their pricing. The devices, which start at $2,599, are expected to go on sale globally in February. There is no information yet about Türkiye pricing and release date.
The new members of Asus’ ROG Strix Scar series offer a powerful option not only for performance enthusiasts, but also for users who care about design and customization options. Particularly high-end hardware, striking screen technology and quiet operating performance can make these models preferred for both gaming and professional use.
