While Sims 4’s new Lovestruck expansion pack added color to Sims’ love lives, rumors emerged that the game’s developers EA and Maxis were working on a death-themed DLC for Sims 4. So what is the source of the rumor?
Death-themed DLC rumors are circulating for Sims 4
Popular Sims YouTuber Lilsimsie questioned why there was a poster of an elderly Sim jogging in a livestream promoting the Lovestruck expansion. The answer of EA employee SimsGuruNinja in the broadcast was quite interesting: “But don’t worry. Old people will die better soon.” This answer created a huge stir among viewers and fueled speculation that a new death-themed DLC was on the way.
Sims content creators, leakers, and even the game’s developers continue to give hints that a death-themed expansion pack is being worked on. For example, after correctly predicting the existence of the Lovestruck expansion, one creator mysteriously tweeted, “I’m willing to die for another EP this year.”
Data mining of Sims 4’s files provides further evidence that a new expansion is on the way. Game According to the information obtained from the files, two more DLCs will be released after the Lovestruck expansion pack, and then a new expansion pack will follow. This ranking is as follows:
- Expansion Pack 16 (Sims 4 Lovestruck expansion pack)
- The Sims 4 DLC 85
- Expansion Pack 17 (possible “Drop Dead” expansion pack)
- The Sims 4 DLC 86
- The Sims 4 DLC 87
- The Sims 4 DLC 88
- The Sims 4 DLC 89
- Expansion Pack 18 (unknown expansion pack)
Although EA and Maxis have not made an official statement yet, it seems quite logical that the “Drop Dead” expansion pack will be released during the Halloween period. Also, after EA and Maxis’ recent heavy investments in Sims’ love lives, it’s only fair that ghost Sims get some attention as well.
Throughout the Sims series, death has always been an important part of the game. Sims can die in many funny ways, like naughty Murphy beds, meteors, or mysteriously removed pool stairs. Sims with a particularly rare flower can beg the Angel of Death for their friend’s life. However, players can always simply leave the deceased family member to die and then begin a romance with the Grim Reaper.
The Sims 4’s new death-themed DLC seems to offer players the opportunity to make the death and love lives of their Sims even more fun. What are you thinking? Please don’t forget to share your thoughts with us in the comments section below.
