Google’s Meet app has gotten several new updates. The updates, which will be available in the coming months, focus especially on the personal side. However, Meet introduces a new user interface and features that were until now only available in meetings, such as in-call messaging.
With the latest update, the call user interface will be more similar to the meeting interface and call controls will become easier to use. In-call messaging will now be supported, so you’ll be able to share links or comments while on mute if you want.
Emoji reactions will also be available in group calls, you’ll be able to layer effects like backgrounds and filters, and screen sharing in calls will also be an option.
Google gives users the option to combine styles, filters, and backgrounds to create a new visual experience during a video call. Users will also continue to have access to emoji reactions, making it easier to show your interest in what’s going on without disrupting the flow of the meeting or whoever is currently speaking on the video call.
Google is also updating its mobile app interface with larger buttons and a better audio experience. The company also claims that you can easily switch a call from your computer to your Android phone or tablet.
We should also point out that these features are included in the latest version of the application. Google states that these new features will be rolled out gradually and may even take several months.
