Unwanted calls are one of the troubles we all experience in our daily lives, and these calls, many of which are fraudulent, sometimes cause us to be unsure of even answering the phone and to approach it with anxiety.
GoogleWhile Google’s Phone app has offered some caller ID features for a while now, Google has now added a new “Lookup” option to make it even easier to identify unknown callers.
Right now, when you encounter an unknown number, you have to decide whether to answer or take a risk and answer. You can check the number with some tools such as Truecaller to see if any information comes up in the scenario where you choose not to answer.
How Will the Lookup Feature Work?
Thanks to the new Lookup feature in Google’s Phone application, this problem will soon disappear. Now when you receive a call from an unidentified number, just tap on the Lookup option inside the Phone app. This will allow the app to automatically look up information about the number without you having to switch to another app or manually copy and paste.
It is not known yet whether the search results will provide a consistent response, but fraudulent calls and the numbers used in these calls can be detected in a much shorter time.
The Lookup feature was first announced with the June update for Pixel phones. However, according to Android Police, the update is now available independently on many phones. Google aims to bring the feature to all phones soon.
