UK-based engineering company Nyobolt took an important step in electric vehicle technology and launched the Nyobolt concept, an ultra-light and fast-charging sports vehicle. This vehicle draws attention with both its performance and charging speed and introduces the company’s high-tech battery solutions to the world.

Nyobolt’s Nyobolt EV concept was introduced last year as a static demonstration vehicle, but is now becoming a reality with a testable version. The vehicle, which is the electric redesign of the S1 Lotus Elise, has 470 horsepower and weighs only 1246 kg. Designed by Julian Thomson, this vehicle attracts attention with its lightweight structure and aerodynamic features.

In the tests, it was observed that the vehicle’s 35 kWh capacity battery was charged between 10% and 80% in just 4 minutes and 37 seconds. This provides performance beyond even today’s fastest charging vehicles.

Nyobolt is also assertive about battery durability. The company states that the battery’s usable capacity remains above 80% by performing 4000 full fast charging cycles. That’s far more performance than the warranties offered by the much larger battery-powered vehicles on the road today.

Nyobolt emphasizes that its technology has a wide application potential outside the automotive industry. The company states that it can offer solutions in various segments from premium cars to performance vehicles. He also explains that they can benefit from the advantages of battery technology in industrial robotic applications and logistics.

Nyobolt’s CEO, Sai Shivareddy, believes that the company’s technology can overcome obstacles to the adoption of electric vehicles, and therefore states that they are in talks with important OEMs. While the company focuses primarily on the premium segment, it also sees potential for vehicles full of performance and passion.
