Office 365 users are facing an unexpected problem. In applications such as Word, Excel and Outlook, a warning is given that the license is disabled. Microsoft is aware of this situation and has rolled up its sleeves to find a solution.
Office applications do not open due to Microsoft 365 licensing issue
According to Microsoft, the licensing changes made by Office administrators lie behind this problem. Operations such as moving users to different license groups, changes to product assignments, or opening and closing license and service plans pave the way for this situation.
The company also stated that turning off the “Latest Version of Desktop Applications” service plan may also trigger this problem. Users who encounter the problem see a warning on their screens. In this warning, it was stated that Microsoft 365 licenses will be disabled in a short time and the applications will become unusable until administrators reactivate the license.
Microsoft has offered some workarounds to overcome this problem. First, users can activate their license by clicking the Reactivate button on the alert they encounter. This process requires users to log in and reactivate the license.
Another option for licensing problems in Office applications is to log out of all Microsoft 365 applications, close the applications and try to log in again. If these methods do not work, you can contact Microsoft.
Microsoft’s engineering team is working to resolve the licensing issue. The company said that more details about the problem will be shared in the coming days.
