OnePlus announced its first foldable phone in October 2023. OnePlus Open has been highly appreciated among fans of the brand as it brings an elegant appearance, an advanced camera set and a large battery with fast charging inherited from OPPO Find N3. Many expected his successor to arrive a year later. But we’re at the end of December and so far there’s no sign of a OnePlus Open 2 model.
It seems like it will take some more time for the device to be made official. The allegations show that the device is eyeing the throne of the Galaxy Z Fold 7, so it will arrive a little later than expected.
OnePlus Open 2 will arrive later than expected
According to Sanju Choudhary’s claims, OnePlus Open 2 will not be seen in the first quarter of 2025. The device is expected to be seen in the second half of the year.
However, the device will directly target the Galaxy Z Fold 7, which Samsung is expected to introduce in July next year. The highly anticipated model will bring improvements, especially in its design and screens, to face its South Korean rival.
Very little information about Open 2 has been leaked so far. These include a massive 5,700 mAh battery, 50 MP cameras and a thinner design that can compete with the most modern foldable phones.
However, expectations indicate that the brand will not wait for the OPPO Find N5 to work on the OnePlus Open 2 model, and that both models will be released basically at the same time, but focus on different countries. More information about the device is expected to emerge in the coming months.
