“Today artificial intelligence models entered our lives through various platforms. However, these cannot yet go beyond static chat screens that answer the questions asked. On the other hand, users and companies expect artificial intelligence models that take action and get the job done for us. This technology, which we call artificial intelligence agents, includes new large language models that can interact with the internet two-way via APIs. So, imagine a model that not only presents us with a summary of the information on the internet, but also can make holiday plans for us, buy our flight and hotel tickets, shop, interact with us by voice, order food according to our tastes, and arrange meetings. Isn’t this exactly the artificial intelligence we’ve been seeing in movies for years?

Pioneering project in Türkiye and the world

Dr. Lecturer Member Mustafa Taha Koçyiğit stated that they will use H100 GPUs in the MareNostrum 5 infrastructure at the Barcelona Supercomputing Center to develop the new artificial intelligence model; “Recently, interest in artificial intelligence agents similar to our model has increased in the world. However, there is no technology yet that reaches the functionality and performance level we aim for. We aim to break new ground with this project. We give open source models such as ‘LLaMA’ and ‘Phi’ the ability to reason, deal with uncertainties and interact with other software, making them capable of solving problems by interacting with the real world. “Once the development phase is completed, we plan to turn it into a user-friendly voice assistant on mobile devices and automobiles.” he said.
