PlayStation 5 Pro is Coming: Features and Release Date Revealed!

Of course, it doesn’t make sense to accept such leaks as real until there is official confirmation, but Tom Henderson has gained quite a reputation for his leaks being real in the past. So much so that Henderson reported that Sony was working on a “real professional controller” for PS5 two months before the DualSense Edge was officially announced in 2022. He also announced that exactly a year before Sony introduced the smaller and lighter PS5 model, the company would release a version of the console with a removable disk drive.

PlayStation 5 Pro Coming at the End of 2024

Now, according to the PS5 Pro details confirmed by Henderson, the new console will offer improved and consistent frame rate (FPS) in 4K and a “performance mode” for 8K resolution. It is also expected to be able to render games up to 45% faster and have ray tracing capabilities that are two to three times faster than the standard model.

Additionally, the document shared by Moore’s Law is Dead, PS5 ProIt shows that it will have a GPU with 67 Teraflops FP16 (33.5 Teraflops FP32) performance, which indicates faster speeds and better graphics overall.

Henderson states that Sony is likely targeting the end of 2024 for the PS5 Pro, but this could change depending on whether the company thinks it hasn’t released enough first-party games this year.
