Sony and PlayStation are one of the first companies that come to mind when it comes to special productions, and they have developed especially for PlayStation Portable. God of WarReady at Dawn, known for special productions such as Daxter, has officially closed its doors. Here are the details about what happened…
A bittersweet farewell from the producer of God of War
Although Sony is one of the lesser-known producers of the PlayStation brand, Ready at Dawn was founded by a small team that left Naught Dog, which was also the legendary producer of the Uncharted series.
The beginning of the end for the company, known for famous games such as God of War: Ghost of Sparta, God of War: Chains of Olympus, God of War: Origins Collection and Daxter, came with the official explosion of The Order: 1886, developed as one of the launch games of PS4.
The company, which was almost kicked out of Sony in a short time, was last purchased by Meta to develop games for Oculus Rift. Although the games released for Oculus received very good scores, Meta made its final decision and officially announced that the company’s activities were terminated.
Here is the statement made by Robert Duncan from Ready at Dawn on the subject:
“As many have already heard, this morning Ready At Dawn Studios is closing its doors. I have worked at RAD for over 10 years and it makes me incredibly sad to see this wonderful team that I have come to love disbanded in this way.
Even so, for now I’m trying to focus my efforts (and distraction, to be honest) on finding solid places for all my dear friends. If anyone has job opportunities/positions they would like to share, please feel free to contact me directly and I will do my best to put you in touch with good people who might be interested.”
