Quentin Tarantino shelved The Movie Critic

Although Quentin Tarantino has given up on making The Movie Critic as his last movie, he has not yet decided what to replace it with. It is said that the director did not shelve this project because he decided on a new project, he just did not want to shoot this movie anymore. Tarantino will now go back to the beginning and decide what his last movie will be.

The Movie Critic Was Set in the 70s and Focused on a Film Critic

The Movie Critic, starring Brad Pitt, would be closer to Once Upon a Time… in Hollywood than Tarantino’s early works, both in terms of being a period film and its subject. The film, which would take viewers to Southern California in 1977, would focus on a critic named Jim Sheldon, who wrote movie reviews for smut magazines.

Tarantino seemed very keen to bring this subject, which he had previously discussed in his book Cinema Speculation, to the big screen. That’s why his decision to back out of this project at the last minute surprised everyone.
