Real-time news feed comes to Gemini in partnership with Google and Associated Press

As part of a new collaboration with the Associated Press (AP), Google is preparing to add a real-time news feed to the Gemini application. This innovation aims to provide users with more up-to-date and useful information.

Google’s Vice President of Global News Partnerships More Jafferstated that this collaboration is an important step towards improving Gemini’s user experience. “As we develop new artificial intelligence products, we integrate certain types of data to provide more up-to-date information to our users. The real-time information flow from the Associated Press will be a great contribution, especially for our users who are looking for information about current events,” Zaidi said in his statement.

Senior Vice President and Chief Revenue Officer, Associated Press Kristin Heitmann He said, “Our long-standing collaboration with Google is based on providing timely and accurate news to global audiences. We are pleased that Google appreciates the unbiased reporting and journalistic value of the Associated Press.”

Gemini can currently provide references from news articles to users’ requests for information about current events. With this new feature, it will be possible to access more comprehensive and fresh content. However, a clear date has not yet been shared as to when the feature will be active for all users.

Google is also working on other innovations in the Gemini application. For example; The “Extensions” section of the application has been rearranged and divided into categories such as productivity, travel, media and learning. Users will now be able to use tools such as YouTube, Google Maps and OpenStax more easily.

The collaboration between Google and Associated Press opens a new era at the intersection of artificial intelligence and journalism. However, such agreements are still a controversial issue in the journalism industry. According to some studies, artificial intelligence-supported tools may tend to misrepresent even licensed content. Still, the news industry’s challenges may lead more publishers to turn to such collaborations.
