ChatGPT, which met with users at the end of 2022, grew rapidly and reached 100 million users in just a few months. This popularity led OpenAI to introduce ChatGPT Pro, a new $200 subscription plan, by the end of 2023. The Pro plan gives its users almost unlimited access and an exclusive access to the o1 Pro model. In addition, faster and more detailed answers are provided by using more processing power.
Additionally, OpenAI also offers a $20 monthly subscription plan and a free tier option that provides access to the latest model of ChatGPT. However, these plans are insufficient to cover the company’s rapidly increasing operational costs.

However, the company recognizes that its current revenue models are not sustainable and is considering restructuring options to increase subscription fees and attract new investments.
Altman’s statements make it clear that OpenAI may have to take revenue-increasing measures and will need more investors in the process. The company aims to achieve annual revenue of $100 billion by 2029.
