Although Samsung has not yet made an official announcement about the release of the Galaxy Watch FE, the existence of this new smartwatch is almost certain. Watch FE was spotted in official images and on Samsung’s support page. Now Samsung has accidentally re-endorsed this watch by listing it on its official website.
Galaxy Watch FE appeared with an interesting promotional campaign in Belgium. According to the campaign, users who purchase the Galaxy S24, S24+ or S24 Ultra with an Orange or VOO subscription plan can win a free Galaxy Watch FE. This is a bit surprising since Samsung hasn’t officially announced the Galaxy Watch FE yet.
This low-profile approach is in line with the company’s typical Fan Edition (FE) marketing strategy. FE models are often used to repackage and sell old stock at a lower price.
According to leaks, the Galaxy Watch FE appears to be a rebranded version of the Galaxy Watch 4 that was launched three years ago. It’s unlikely to offer any major upgrades or unique features for those expecting something new.
The FE model will retain its circular design, AMOLED display, and most of the Watch 4’s other features. However, there may be differences in some areas, such as the battery. Be sure to check out our comparison article where we discuss all the possible changes between the Galaxy Watch FE and Watch 4!
Most importantly, the listing—albeit inadvertently—suggests that Samsung will release the Galaxy Watch FE before its Galaxy Unpacked event scheduled for next month. There are rumors that the event will be on July 10.
The Watch FE promotional campaign with Galaxy S24 pre-orders is valid until the end of June, so the watch is expected to be released in the last week of June or the first week of July.
