Samsung introduced its new wearable product, Galaxy Ring, which it announced a while ago. Announced at Mobile World Congress 2024, this product aims to revolutionize the field of health and wellness. Three eye-catching color options; Galaxy Ring in platinum silver, gold and ceramic black will be released later this year.
The first information about the Galaxy Ring was shared with a render image at the Unpacked event organized by Samsung last month. However, since then, the highly anticipated details finally came to light at MWC 2024. Positioned as a rival to health-focused wearable devices such as Oura, Galaxy Ring draws attention with the advanced sensors it contains.
Although Samsung did not allow the device to be photographed, the shared images show that the Galaxy Ring is similar in size to the Oura but has a more fluffy and concave design. This extra volume is an expected feature considering the electronic components inside.
Galaxy Ring will come in different sizes, battery capacities will vary
The Galaxy Ring is lighter than expected and will be available in sizes 5 through 13, with inner band sizes S through XL, The Verge notes. Battery capacity will vary depending on the size chosen and will be between 14.5mAh and 21.5mAh. Although battery life is not yet known, it is known that Oura can last up to seven days between charges.
Samsung’s VP Dr. According to Hon Pak’s blog post, Galaxy Ring will track sleep and make recommendations to users based on heart rate, movement and breathing. It will also team up with Natural Cycles, which already has fertility tracking on the Galaxy Watch, rivaling a key feature of Oura.
Galaxy Ring will introduce a new tool called “My Vitality Score” that measures alertness so users can see if they are in their best shape. Feedback will be provided through “Booster Cards” that offer scientific tips based on the data collected by the device.
Galaxy Ring, which will be integrated into the Samsung Health ecosystem, will be compatible with Galaxy Watch and will allow you to access better quality data in your health monitoring by using both devices at the same time. This wearable device in ring form will be less uncomfortable to carry while sleeping.
Details such as exactly which sensors the Galaxy Ring will have, its price and sales date will be announced in the coming months. The device will initially be compatible only with Samsung Galaxy phones, but Samsung plans to make it compatible with other Android devices in the future. iOS compatibility remains unclear.
