The first announcement for the Samsung Galaxy Ring was made in January, and more details were shared at the 2024 Mobile World Congress (MWC 2024) in February. However, the comprehensive introduction of Galaxy Ring is expected to be held together with Samsung’s new foldable phones at the Unpacked event to be held in July.
Previous news had claimed that Galaxy Ring would come with nine different size options. However, a new leak shows that Samsung has removed one option from the list. In the latest leak, the Galaxy Ring is seen with eight different model numbers: SM-Q500, SM-Q501, SM-Q502, SM-Q505, SM-Q506, SM-Q507, SM-Q508 and SM-Q509.
Noteworthy is the absence of SM-Q503 and SM-Q504 in this model number list. It is not possible to say anything about the reason for this deficiency. One of the options that comes to mind is that Samsung initially planned 10 different sizes, but later reduced this number to eight.
According to the leak, the smallest size will come with model number SM-Q500. In the largest size, the model number will be SM-Q509. This means that the two size options removed from the list are relatively small options.
Samsung Galaxy Ring can work for nine days on a single charge
However, it should be noted that almost everything currently talked about is speculation. It is clearly seen that making a smart ring is more complicated than smart watches, where it is sufficient to offer only two different body options. It is also stated that Samsung will offer three different color options for the ring. This makes the options more diverse.
Samsung Galaxy Ring will be able to work for nine days on a single charge. The effect of being a screenless device is clearly visible here. Sleep tracking and NFC support are also among the features of Galaxy Ring.
