Samsung Quick Share update improves file sharing

Samsung has made an important update to the Quick Share application developed for Galaxy smartphone and tablet users. With this update, Quick Share’s daily file sharing limit has been doubled. Now users will be able to transfer up to 10 GB of data when sharing their files via links, QR codes or directly to contacts.

Quick Share is known as Samsung’s wireless file sharing system that works over Wi-Fi and Wi-Fi Direct. This system, introduced in recent months, made file sharing fast and secure. However, in order to better meet the needs of users, Samsung has made some improvements to the Quick Share application.

What’s new with the Quick Share update

With Samsung’s new update to the Quick Share application, the file sharing limit has been increased from 5 GB to 10 GB. This increase will make the job of users much easier, especially when sharing large files. Additionally, the device identification feature has also been improved with the update. Now, the names of nearby devices can be displayed in two lines, allowing devices to be identified more easily.

Another important feature that comes with the update is that the total size of the incoming files is displayed in a pop-up window. In this way, users will be able to accept files more consciously by foreseeing the size of the incoming file.

The new version of Quick Share (13.6.51.13) is available for download from the Galaxy Store. However, it may take some time for the update to reach all users. Samsung plans to roll out the update gradually and states that it will be available to all users in the coming days.

Quick Share and Android Nearby Share Integration

Quick Share is compatible not only between Samsung devices but also with other platforms. Earlier this year, Google integrated Android’s Nearby Share system into Samsung’s Quick Share system. This integration aims to provide consistency between the Android and ChromeOS ecosystems. The Nearby Share feature on all Android phones and tablets has been renamed to Quick Share and updated to Quick Share on the Windows platform.
