Days before the start of CES 2025, excitement is at its peak among technology lovers. One of the most anticipated innovations of this year will be Samsung’s new generation monitors with QD-OLED technology. These monitors, which are said to be groundbreaking in the industry, are expected to have VESA ClearMR 21000 and DisplayHDR True Black 1000 certificates. Details are in our news…
Samsung takes the stage with a QD-OLED monitor at CES 2025! Here are the features
The VESA ClearMR 21000 certification offered by the new monitors guarantees a significant reduction in motion blur. For those of us who don’t know what Clear Motion Ratio (CMR) is: it refers to the ratio of clear pixels and blurry pixels on a screen. The higher the CMR value, the clearer the screen displays fast moving images. So, this will make a critical difference, especially in games with high frame rates.
Another innovation for QD-OLED displays is the DisplayHDR True Black 1000 certification. This certification guarantees that the screen can reach up to 1,000 nits of brightness and absolute black levels. So we can say that this feature will offer users a cinematic visual experience.
Samsung also plans to introduce new Odyssey monitors in different sizes and proportions at CES 2025. It is stated that some models in this series will have QLED and others will have QD-OLED display technology. The monitors will appeal to gamers with 16:9, 21:9 and 32:9 ultra-wide format options. Hojung Lee, Head of Samsung Display Product Planning Team, made the following statement about the screens we mentioned:
“Samsung Display is committed to providing customers with the best OLED and QD-OLED displays. “Towards this goal, we work closely with VESA to certify new standards such as DisplayHDR True Black 1000 and ClearMR 21000.”
Besides Samsung, we expect competitors like LG to introduce new gaming monitors at CES 2025. It is said that LG will participate in this competition with monitors using its own WOLED panels. With the start of CES 2025, the details of these innovations will become clear.
