Qualcomm, which has updated and presented impressive chips over time, has been on the agenda for a while with its step into the computer side.
Qualcomm, which made a major upgrade for its laptop chips with Snapdragon X Elite last fall, announced today that it will expand the series by introducing its new processor called Snapdragon X Plus.
What are the Features of Qualcomm Snapdragon X Plus?
Similar to the X Elite, the X Plus is based on the same 4nm process and Arm-based Oryon CPU architecture as its sibling.
The difference seems to be that the new chip is designed to be used in slightly more affordable mainstream laptops and therefore has only 10 CPU cores and lower clock speeds.
This positioning is very similar to what Qualcomm’s competitors have been doing for a while; The X Elite serves as the flagship chip, and the X Plus sits just below it.
Qualcomm also makes some big claims about power efficiency; The X Plus chip is said to offer 37 percent faster CPU performance compared to the Intel Core Ultra 7 155H when both chips are running at the same wattage.
Unfortunately, the X Plus isn’t expected to appear on retail devices until the second half of 2024.
