What is the aim of the new test?
The goals of the test include capturing the Super Heavy in the air for a second time and bringing it back to the launch site, having the Starship re-ignite a Raptor engine in space, and re-entering the atmosphere over the Indian Ocean to perform a series of heat shield and maneuver trials.
The previous test flight took place on October 13 and was recorded as the most successful flight ever. In this flight, Super Heavy successfully carried the Starship into orbit and then returned to Earth. He was safely captured by giant mechanical arms attached to the launch tower.
The new flight test will be conducted from SpaceX’s Starbase facility in Texas. Live broadcast will begin 30 minutes before departure and the event can be watched live on X.
