valve, SteamA new update is being made to make the games offered as demos easier to find. The demo version, which has been on the same page as the main game until now, will now be presented on its own page in Steam as a separate game. In this way, the demo version will now be easier to find.
Valve announced in its Steam blog post: “Great Steam Demo Update”
Many developers offer demo versions of games to users on certain platforms so that players can experience the games before purchasing them. Steam is one of these platforms. However, it is almost impossible to find a demo version of a game on the popular gaming platform by searching for it. Because when you type the name of the game in the search bar, the game appears with its price.
This has made access to demo versions very difficult for a long time. Sharing a text called “Great Steam Demo Update” on the blog section of the popular video game platform today, Valve stated that access to the demo version will now become easier. Demo versions, which were previously located at the bottom of the main game, above the DLC and versions, will now be presented on a separate page.
Since it is on a completely separate page, the versions that will appear as “Demo” or “Free” when you type the name of the game in the search bar will also be found with demo version contents on their own pages. In other words, it will not include the main visuals of the game, but the features and details offered in the demo version. Additionally, players’ comments specific to the demo will also appear in the store.
Another innovation on the demo side is adding the game to the library without installing it. As you know, until now, when you clicked on the demo version, the game started downloading directly. Now, Steam will allow you to add the game to the library, and if you add unreleased games to the list, it will send you a mobile notification and e-mail when the demo version of the game is released.
In addition to all these innovations, the platform removes the demo version of very old games and reports that some versions may still have been overlooked. What do you think about the innovations coming to Steam? You can express your ideas in the comments.
