Supports The Sands of Time Remake project

Ubisoft’s Toronto studio has rolled up its sleeves to support the Prince of Persia: The Sands of Time Remake project. This announcement comes as Ubisoft Toronto announced on X/Twitter that they will be working with the company’s Montreal division. In 2022, Ubisoft Montreal took over the project from Ubisoft Pune and Mumbai, a few days ahead of the targeted January 2021 release date. At the time, the company stated that they were building on the work of Montreal’s studios in India. However, in an interview last year, producer Jean-Francois Naud stated that the project was still in the concept stage and that they were shaping the game based on feedback from the community.

Ubisoft Montreal is known as the birthplace of the epic Sands of Time trilogy. The original Sands of Time was a reboot of Jordan Mechner’s Prince of Persia series for PC. The Montreal studio is also behind the Splinter Cell and Rainbow Six series, as well as many Assassin’s Creed games. Toronto developed Far Cry 5 and 6 and Watch Dogs: Legion games. He is currently working on a Splinter Cell remake, which has been rebuilt from scratch using the Snowdrop engine.

A new release date for Prince of Persia: The Sands of Time Remake has not been announced yet. This project, taken over from Ubisoft’s studios in India, is being reshaped under the leadership of Montreal. In this process, which progresses in line with community feedback, the game is expected to reach its final form with the contributions of Ubisoft Toronto. Both Montreal and Toronto’s past successful projects give hope for this new production. We are eagerly waiting for the game to come out to commemorate the past.
