Survivor is coming to PS4 and Xbox One

EA and Respawn Entertainment announced that the PlayStation 4 and Xbox One versions of Star Wars Jedi: Survivor will be released on September 17. This is good news for players who only own old generation consoles. This excellent action-adventure game, previously only available for PC and current generation consoles, will now meet a wider audience of players.

Star Wars Jedi: Survivor is the sequel to Star Wars Jedi: Fallen Order, released in 2019, and tells the story of Cal Kestis facing a new threat connected to the High Republic era. GameI received a four-star review when it launched in April 2023, saying, “Star Wars Jedi: Survivor tells a thematically rich, character-driven Jedi story in one of the most intense 3D Metroidvania games I’ve ever played. “It is now the defining example of the single-player Star Wars experience,” I wrote.

When the game was first announced, it was launched exclusively for the current generation consoles, and it was thought that this would not change despite the performance problems experienced on the PC. However, over the last year and a half, EA has released new patches and worked on an older-gen port to improve Survivor’s performance across all platforms. Confirmation of this port was announced during an EA earnings call last year. The press release notes that older-gen versions of Survivor cost $50 and feature “various optimizations aimed at maximizing the hardware capabilities of the consoles.”

Star Wars Jedi: Survivor launches on September 17 for PS4 and Xbox One. The game is currently available on PC, PS5, and Xbox Series X/S and is part of the Xbox Game Pass Ultimate game catalogue. EA also plans to release a patch on PC in the next few weeks that will improve game performance, controls, and more.

This patch will also include various quality of life improvements that will make the gaming experience smoother. Players with older generation consoles will finally have the chance to experience this legendary Star Wars adventure.
