Tesla’s external battery accessory developed for Cybertruck model, the company’s online configuration tool was removed. This module, called “Range Extender, was presented to Cybertruck to give additional range.
Tesla Cybertruck’s external battery option was canceled
Tesla had previously reservations for this accessory for a $ 2,000 pre -payment. However, the fact that this option no longer includes the order page has led to question marks about the fate of the product.
When Cybertruck was first introduced, the three -engine version was expected to offer a range of over 500 miles and to go on sale with a price tag of $ 70,000. However, the range of the Tri-Motor model on the market was limited to 320 miles and the price increased to $ 100,000.
Similarly in the two -motor models, the promised range has been achieved by more than 300 miles, but the initial price rose to $ 80,000. Tesla developed an external battery package planned to be sold at a price of 16,000 dollars to balance this situation after being below the expectation.
Placed in Cybertruck’s safe, this module increased the total range of the vehicle to approximately 445 miles. The accessory was planned for the beginning of 2025 in the first place, and then the release date was postponed in the middle of 2025. However, no new calendar or update came from Tesla in this process.
The technical features page still contains range information that can be accessed with this external battery. However, the removal of the configuration tool means that the company quietly suspends the project or postponed the launch to an uncertain date.
Tesla has not made any official explanation on the issue so far. So what do you think about this? You can share your opinions with us in the comments section below.
