Elon Musk’s Hyperloop project, which has not succeeded, is being rebuilt in China. The system, which was previously canceled due to high costs and technical problems that could not be exceeded, was tested by Chinese engineers.
The Chinese sign a project -like project
The 2 -kilometer test line established in Shanxi was operational in July 2024. Instead of the steel tubes recommended by Elon Musk, the system was built with steel-concrete pipes supported by corrugated steel expansion joints.
This new structure used, without being affected by the outdoor weather conditions, the internal environment is protected at a pressure level close to the vacuum. Thus, energy loss is reduced and the general cost of the system decreases. Chinese engineers managed to reduce construction costs by 60 percent thanks to this design.
The technical infrastructure of the project includes low -carbon grills that minimize vortex currents that cause problems in existing Hyperloop trials. These grids will form the basis of the insulated and durable road tunnel required for capsules that can rise to supersonic speeds.
The concrete used in the system developed in China will also be different from traditional structures. Special concrete mixtures and glass fiber supplements reinforced with the basalt fiber that did not crack at the pressure levels close to the vacuum were used. These materials significantly reduce the fragility of concrete.
In order to ensure the safety of the journey in the test line, the sensors directed by laser and artificial intelligence -supported magnetic dams were also commissioned. These technologies ensure that the capsule in the tube remains constant on the magnetic rail.
The necessary planning to expand the test line was completed. However, a serious investment is required to transform the system into a large -scale infrastructure. So what do you think about this? You can share your opinions with us in the comments section below.
