The ships to be developed will have a unique design and modular architecture according to the goals and requirements of the Portuguese Navy. With its versatile mission function, it will be able to perform joint power transfer, amphibious operations and replenishment at sea functions. in times of crisis; It will also perform tasks such as humanitarian aid, search and rescue, and hospital.

In addition to providing logistical support and transferring fuel and cargo at sea, the ships will also be able to take part in joint power transfer and amphibious operations with their armored vehicle carrying capacity. It can carry up to 20 light tactical armored vehicles. It is stated that it will have high speed and cargo capacity compared to ships of similar size.

The ships will be equipped with close air defense systems, 12.7 mm remote controlled weapon systems and chaff / decoy systems, and will include many advanced sensors and systems.
