The latest additional pack of the legendary game will arrive in April

This DLC, which will be released next month, promises surprises and epic battles that will excite fans of the series. With The Rising Tide Final Fantasy 16The magical world of will expand even more.

Final Fantasy 16‘s latest downloadable content (DLC), The Rising Tide, will be released for the PS5 platform on April 18. This DLC begins sometime towards the end of the main game, when Clive and his friends receive an unmarked letter informing them that the long-lost Eikon of Water, the Ruler of Leviathan, must be rescued. Accepting this quest takes you to Mysidia, a new location described as “a land hidden under the blue sky” where you will discover the tragic history of a forgotten people.

Mysidia hosts new side quests where you will discover the story of the region and its inhabitants, and of course you will have to face new threats. Among these threats, for the first time in the Final Fantasy series, Final Fantasy 5There is a new and “scarier” version of the tonberis introduced in . These creatures are found in a new scene called Air of the Hours, which was once a bustling city but now lies silent in ruins where “no sound comes out except the ceaseless wringing of knives.”

In terms of gameplay, the DLC grants Clive the abilities of Su’s Eikon, increasing the level cap to 60 in Story Mode and Action Mode. Final Fantasy In Mode (New Game+), it increases it to 110. The water-based Eikon allows Clive to unleash sea waves to drown enemies at close and long range, while the new Serpent’s Cry Eikonic Feat summons a sea-spitting serpent that can deliver “precise hits” on enemies at great distances. The trailer does a fair showing of the gameplay of the water Eikon, and it looks totally epic.

Finally, The Rising TideAfter beating (and the main game), the DLC will unlock Kairos Gate, a survival mode consisting of 20 increasingly difficult wave-based stages, including valuable loot, new materials and weapons. There’s also a global leaderboard where you can prove your worth as a Carrier.
