Until Dawn, one of the popular exclusive games of PlayStation 4, is available to players again with its remake version. The game, rebuilt from scratch with Unreal Engine 5, will meet players on PlayStation 5 and PC on October 4.
Since the original developer of the game, Supermassive Games, was also working on other projects, the studio named Ballistic Moon undertook the production of the remake version. In the statement made by the studio, it is stated that they focused on making the game feel more cinematic and intimate. Considering that the shooting of the film adaptation of Until Dawn has started, it can be said that this is an appropriate decision.
Those who replay the game will see updated character models, environments, interactive accessories, visual effects and animations. While the transition to Unreal Engine 5 enables Ballistic Moon to make the most of its upgraded rendering and ray tracing capabilities, it is underlined that death scenes in the game will look more realistic.
Until Dawn remake comes with more accessibility tweaks
Most of the action will now be from a third-person perspective with a controllable camera, rather than the completely fixed angles of the original game. Ballistic Moon also says it added more collectibles and reworked the prologue to adjust the pace. Additionally, the studio is introducing more accessibility and usability tweaks to help as many people as possible experience Until Dawn.
