The Social Network sequel is coming

Sorkin is cautious about the details of the new scenario, but during the Trump era FacebookLooks like it will follow. He told the podcast hosts that he actually blamed the social media site for the Jan. 6 riots that claimed the lives of five people and injured more than 140 police officers.

Facebook, Google, Twitter and Reddit were subpoenaed within the scope of the investigation into January 6. Lawmakers say Facebook failed to take steps to address the “Stop the Steal” movement organized on the platform and did not recognize the danger posed by these groups until the violence in D.C. Sorkin did not give any reason why he blamed Facebook for the attack on the capitol and told the podcast hosts they should “buy movie tickets.”

Sorkin clearly pays attention to all this, saying in the same interview: “Facebook, among other things, adjusts its algorithm to promote the most divisive material possible. Because this is what will increase participation.”

For now, don’t go to the movie theater to buy tickets for The Social Network 2: Electric Boogaloo. The script is still in its early stages, and Sorkin has not announced a partnership with any studios to produce the film. This also isn’t his first attempt to implement something like this. He was previously working on a scenario entirely related to January 6, but there was no progress.
