Google, Android The design of the Search Bar Widget, which users have been using for a long time, has been renewed. However, with this innovation, many customization options that users are used to have been removed. Here are the changes made to the design and its final version…
Google Search Bar design revamped: Customization options reduced and dynamic color added
Previously, users could customize the Google Search Bar widget they added to the home screen through the Google app. To do this, they could open the Google application, click on the profile photo, go to the settings and access the “Customize Widget” option from the “Search widget” section.
In this section, users can specify the widget’s logo type (Google text or colorful ‘G’ logo), bar shape (rectangular with sharp corners, rectangle with rounded corners, or pill-shaped), bar color (dark background, light gray, black and white, or custom color). settings) and bar shading (from transparent to solid).
However, with the new design, these customization options have been greatly reduced. Now users only certain color themes can choose from. By default, there are light or dark background options depending on system settings. The lens, microphone and G icons retain the official four-color design.
Another striking feature of the new design is Dynamic Color Adding the option. Previously, this feature was only available when Themed icons were enabled in the search bar in Pixel Launcher. The Dynamic Color feature also reflects the overall theme color of the device into the Google Search Bar widget, so that the widget blends in with the overall appearance of the device.
The only customization option left in the new widget design is the transparency setting. Users can adjust the transparency level of the widget and reset the changes made with the “Undo” button in the corner. To add the widget to the home screen, simply click the “Add” button.
This new design is currently available on Pixel and Samsung Galaxy devices with the Google app beta (15.30.x). However, it is not yet widely available. What are you thinking? What do you think of these changes to Google’s Search widget? You can write your opinions in the comments section below.
