Sonos is expected to introduce its long-awaited and talked-about wireless headset in June. Although the company previously planned to announce the headset in April, it was stated that this was postponed due to a software problem. Although Sonos has not yet shared details about the device, Schuurman, one of the company’s official distributors in the Netherlands, has published the features and images of the headset. Images of the headset, which appears to be released under the name Sonos Ace, were also shared on Reddit.
According to the images, Ace’s box will include headphones, some cables and a carrying case. The toggle switches on the over-ear parts are also among what the images show.
Since the image quality is poor, it is not easy to say anything clearly about how “high-end” the Ace will be. However, Schuurman’s records show the sale price as 403.58 euros. It can be said that this is close to the $449 selling price previously claimed by Bloomberg.
Sonos aims to boost stagnant sales with Ace
According to previous reports, Sonos CEO Patrick Spence hopes the launch of the new device category can help the company known for its speakers and soundbars grow after years of stagnant sales.
The Sonos Ace is said to be designed to work with the company’s existing devices and can stream audio directly from TVs and music streaming services using its built-in Wi-Fi connectivity. Sonos is also exploring the possibility of launching an in-ear model in the future that could compete with Apple’s AirPods and other similar products.
