The proposal to amend some laws with the Turkish Armed Forces Personnel Law, adopted by the National Defense Commission of the Turkish Grand National Assembly, banned the use of TikTok for Turkish Armed Forces personnel. The aim of this ban is to increase security and privacy measures. With the ban, it will no longer be possible for Turkish Armed Forces personnel to share their personal information on TikTok and be active on this platform.

Another regulation is that personnel whose insurance started after 1999 and who were retired due to lack of staff by the decision of the Supreme Military Council after February 1, 2018, will be granted a pension if they complete 25 years of service, regardless of age.

According to another regulation other than the TikTok ban, students studying at NCO vocational schools, except for those who are expelled from school due to health conditions, will pay twice the expenses incurred by the state. Those who are dismissed from military cadetship due to indiscipline are subject to the compensation amount to be calculated. have to pay four times as much will stay.

The inspection of companies operating in the field of defense industry will be carried out more quickly and effectively by the Ministry of National Defense. This regulation aims to create a more effective control mechanism by accelerating the inspection of defense industry companies.

If the appropriation allocated for the special revenues used for the modernization of the Turkish Armed Forces and the development of the defense industry is insufficient, the President will be given the authority to add appropriations. The staffing of contracted sergeants and privates and their transition to specialist sergeant will be carried out by the Ministry of National Defense and the Ministry of Internal Affairs.

One of the main reasons for the decision to ban TikTok within the Turkish Armed Forces is the protection of Turkish Armed Forces personnel against security and privacy risks. Social media platforms increase the risk of personal information being disseminated and used by malicious individuals.
