Quantum computer technology, previously developed by technology giants such as Google, Microsoft and IBM, will soon begin to be used in our country. The first domestic quantum computer developed by TOBB ETÜ will be officially introduced and put into use tomorrow.
TOBB ETÜ will put Turkey’s first domestic quantum computer model, which it has developed with its studies on quantum technologies since 2010, into operation at the ceremony to be held tomorrow. The name and features of the new technology will be announced at the ceremony. It is reported that the quantum computer, whose technical features such as the number of qubits and processing power are not yet known, has been developed with an infrastructure that is open to continuous development.
Quantum computers, which can easily perform complex calculations that are impossible to solve with their processing power, support researchers in large-scale scientific studies. It is anticipated that the domestic quantum computer will similarly be used in experimental studies at TOBB ETÜ.
Since Google needed more processing power to maintain its presence on the internet, it decided to produce its own quantum computer.
