Representing Turkey at the CES 2025 Consumer Electronics Fair held in Las Vegas, USA this year, ASPİLSAN Energy attracted great attention with its lithium-ion battery production and energy storage solutions. ASPİLSAN’s General Manager Prof. Dr. In the interview with Ahmet Turan Özdemir, the main factors behind the company’s success and future goals were discussed.

ASPİLSAN Energy was established in 1981 and started producing rechargeable nickel-cadmium batteries in 1984. In 2022, it was literally reborn from the ashes in the sector with the production of new generation lithium-ion batteries. The company designs and produces batteries with different features for both the defense industry and civilian use. One of the most important features of ASPİLSAN is that it produces its batteries with its own technology.

Prof. Dr. Özdemir emphasized the strength of the company by saying, “ASPILSAN Energy carries out the entire production process, from powder materials to battery systems, in its factory in Kayseri, and has a feature that only a few companies around the world can achieve.”

At the CES 2025 Fair, where consumer electronics were at the forefront, ASPİLSAN Enerji stood out especially with its portable energy solutions. Introducing lithium ion cells, ASPİLSAN attracted attention with high energy density, long-lasting and reliable batteries. The company stated that it produces certified cells needed in areas such as camping and caravanning in the USA and that these products attracted great attention at the fair.

ASPİLSAN’s General Manager Prof. Dr. Özdemir underlined that battery production is not only a matter of technology but also a matter of national security. Özdemir said, “If you do not know what is inside a battery, this technology can become a security risk. “As ASPİLSAN, we produce every stage from powder material to battery in our own factory, thus providing full control,” he said.

ASPİLSAN also plays a critical role in the production of batteries used to ensure uninterrupted communication during natural disasters. ASPİLSAN, which meets the battery needs of all operators in Turkey, assumes a great responsibility in this field.

ASPİLSAN, which has set big targets for 2025 and beyond, continues its investments to develop new generation battery technologies. The company also plans to take part in aviation and space platforms with innovative products, especially iron phosphate (LFP) cells.
