PlayStation Productions and Screen Gems have announced the cast for the theatrical adaptation of the interactive horror game Until Dawn. According to Deadline, Ella Rubin, who starred alongside Anne Hathaway in Amazon Prime’s The Idea of You, and Michael Cimino, who played the character Victor Salazar in Hulu’s Love, Victor, will take part in this project. Additionally, Ji-young Yoo from Expats and Odessa A’zion from Sitting in Bars with Cake also joined the cast. The film will tell the story of eight young people trying to survive in a remote mountain house.
Supermassive Games had done motion capture and voice-over work with well-known actors such as Rami Malek and Hayden Panettiere for the game’s characters. However, these actors are no longer the appropriate age for their original roles. Therefore, it was no surprise that they were not involved in the project. However, the fact that famous faces are identified with the characters causes producers to face a different situation when working with new actors.
“At PlayStation Productions, we’re always committed to adapting our beloved games in creative and original ways that our fans will enjoy,” Asad Qizilbash, president of Sony’s production company, told Deadline. We created a cast of characters.” said.
The game is in the process of a remake for PS5 and PC. The game, built with Unreal Engine 5 for the new console, will add a third-person camera mode, new locations and new interactions. The Until Dawn remake will be released this fall. Below is the promotional film released for the game. It looks truly terrifying.
