WhatsApp reaches 100 million monthly active users in the USA

Although WhatsApp is the most popular messaging and communication platform in many countries, including Turkey, this is not the case in the USA. However, this turning point seems likely to change in the coming period. According to the statement made by Meta, the number of monthly active users of WhatsApp in the USA reached 100 million. It is also noted that 10 million of these 100 million users are in the state of Texas.

Meta seems to have been rewarded for its move to increase WhatsApp’s popularity in the USA with commercials featuring the cast of Modern Family, one of the popular TV series that concluded in 2020. In these commercials, it was underlined that messaging between iPhone and Android owners could be made easier with WhatsApp.

Interestingly, Meta also celebrated WhatsApp reaching 100 million monthly active users in the USA. The company placed a green speech bubble, approximately 60 meters long, between Apple and Samsung stores at the Americana shopping mall in Los Angeles. This balloon says, “Message privately between devices with WhatsApp.”

WhatsApp has more than 2 billion users around the world

WhatsApp’s global monthly active users are over 2 billion. In this respect, the number of 100 million users in the USA can be considered low. However, it can easily be said that reaching such a level in its homeland is also important for Meta in terms of morale.
