WhatsApp will stop working on these smartphones from January 1, 2025

There are approximately 20 smartphone models that will lose support. In fact, although we do not see these models much anymore, there is still a mass of people using them. Because these models consist of phones that were released in the early 2010s and were very popular at that time. Here are the devices that will be excluded from support:

• Samsung: Galaxy S3, Galaxy Note 2, Galaxy Ace 3, Galaxy S4 Mini
• Motorola: Moto G (1st Generation), Razr HD, Moto E 2014
• HTC: One X, One X+, Desire 500, Desire 601
• LG: Optimus G, Nexus 4, G2 Mini, L90

All of these devices have a history of about 10 years and are unfortunately now considered “old” in the technology world. So, what should users do? We recommend that users with these devices urgently backup their chats to avoid losing their WhatsApp messaging history. You can follow these steps to take a chat backup:

1. Go to WhatsApp Settings.
2. Click Chats > Chat Backup.
3. Back up your chats by pressing the backup button.
