Adapted from Robinne Lee’s novel, “The Idea of You” was directed by Michael Showalter and written by Showalter and Jennifer Westfeldt. The film follows the relationship between 20-something musician Hayes Campbell (who may or may not be based on Harry Styles) and 40-something single mother Solène Marchand. The film achieved an impressive 90% rating on Rotten Tomatoes prior to its release and received positive reviews from many media outlets, including critical praise.
