Riot Games, the famous game company known for VALORANT and League of Legends (LoL) games, released the animated series Arcane, set in the LoL universe, in 2021. The series, which was broadcast on the giant digital streaming store Netflix, received positive comments from the majority of people who watched it.
It was announced that Arcane, which managed to attract attention with its visual quality, impressive story, world design and wide range of music, would not have a third season. Although this upsets the community, the recent news has renewed expectations.
For those who don’t know, the Arcane series tells the story of League of Legends champions Jinx and Vi, full of conflicts between the city of Piltover and the underworld of Zaun. The production, which received a score of 9 out of 10 on the popular series rating platform IMDb, became one of the most talked about again with the recent release of its second season. It looks like it will be talked about for a while longer.
A user on the X platform asked Riot Games Co-Founder Marc Merrill’s post why Arcane would not continue. Merrill kicked off expectations for the new LoL series by responding, “Because there are so many more stories to tell.”
There is currently no information about the new animated series that is expected to be released, but the community wants the story of the Amumu champion to be told. We’ll all see if the company will listen to its fans.
