Elon Musk’s artificial intelligence company xAI has begun testing a standalone iOS app of its AI-powered chatbot Grok, which was previously only available to X users. The application, which is currently in beta in Australia and a few countries, provides features such as rewriting text, summarizing long paragraphs, question-answering, and creating images from text by accessing real-time data from the internet and the X platform.
xAI is also working on a site called Grok.com to make Grok accessible via a web platform.
According to the company’s statement, Grok is an artificial intelligence assistant designed according to the principles of maximum accuracy, utility and curiosity. Users can get answers to their questions, create visuals, and obtain more in-depth information by uploading photos.
Grok, which was initially offered only to paid subscribers of X, started to be tested with a free version in November and was made available to all users as of this month.
Grok’s rendering model draws attention especially with its photorealistic rendering capabilities. The app also does not impose serious restrictions on creating images of public figures or copyrighted materials. This allows users to create images with wide creative freedom.
With Grok’s iOS application and website, it is aimed to reach a wider user base and make artificial intelligence-supported assistant features more accessible.
