Reliable source Digital Chat Station has shared information about an upcoming Xiaomi phone that is claimed to have the Snapdragon 8s Elite chipset. Although the name of the device has not been revealed, rumors suggest that it could be the Xiaomi Civi 5 Pro. The Civi 4 Pro was announced in China in March 2024, and it is possible that the Civi 5 Pro will be introduced in its home market around the same time.
According to the leak, the Xiaomi Civi 5 Pro will feature a quad-curved design and a 1.5K resolution display with a dual-hole-punch design in the middle that houses two front cameras, reminiscent of Apple’s Dynamic Island. A previous leak revealed that the device will be equipped with an ultrasonic in-display fingerprint sensor.
Similar to the Redmi K80, the Civi 5 Pro will feature a circular camera module on the back panel. The camera setup will come with a telephoto lens and will continue to have Leica-designed cameras like its predecessor, the Civi 4 Pro. The back panel of the device will be made of fiberglass material.
Qualcomm’s Snapdragon 8s Elite chipset (SM8735), the refreshed version of the Snapdragon 8s Gen 3, will power the Civi 5 Pro. Moreover, Civi 5 Pro will have a slim design and a battery capacity of around 5000mAh.
Speaking of Snapdragon 8s Elite, several affordable flagship phones are also expected to feature the said chipset. Redmi Turbo 4 Pro and iQOO 10 Turbo are also said to be powered by Snapdragon 8s Elite.
