Xiaomi started HyperOS 2.0 tests

The testing process of Xiaomi’s new generation operating system HyperOS 2.0 has officially started. According to new information discovered by the XiaomiTime team, tests for the development of HyperOS 2.0 have accelerated. After a long time of rumors, XiaomiTime team has found important information confirming that HyperOS 2.0 is being tested. This new operating system is expected to be introduced in October.

Xiaomi’s work on HyperOS 2.0 has accelerated. A new extension in Xiaomi OTA server [OSBigversion]
was discovered. This new extension is used to specify HyperOS versions. For example, if you are using HyperOS 1.0, this extension
[OSBigversion] => It will appear as 1.0. Likewise, if you are using HyperOS 2.0, this extension [OSBigversion] => It will be displayed as 2.0.

Previously, to indicate major MIUI releases [Bigversion]
extension was used. For example, if you are using MIUI 14, this extension “[bigversion] => It would appear as 14”. Xiaomi has been using this type of extension for years, but now a special “OSBigversion” extension is used to distinguish new HyperOS versions. The addition of this extension ensures that new HyperOS versions reach your device seamlessly and marks the official start of development of HyperOS 2.0.

Additionally, HyperOS versions have build numbers starting with V816. MIUI was first released on 16.8.2010 and hence Xiaomi set the build number as V816. Actually, there are different cases regarding this build number. Before HyperOS 1.0 was released, the build number of this new version was V15. This suggests that HyperOS 1.0 is a rebranded MIUI 15. Some people thought that Xiaomi was developing a new operating system, but this is not true. Even now you may not know that you are using MIUI 15.

HyperOS 2.0 is expected to be announced with the Xiaomi 15 series in October. Xiaomi usually introduces the new UI with a big launch and then starts releasing the new update gradually. All we have to do now is wait patiently for HyperOS 2.0.
