Xiaomi’s new budget-friendly phone is coming

Redmi’s budget-friendly smartphone series has gained a solid foothold in the market by offering essential features at affordable prices. The next model of this series, Redmi 13 5G, will be introduced in India on July 9. Redmi 13 5G promises to offer 5G connectivity at a budget-friendly price like previous models. So, what can we expect from this phone? Here are the features and details we know so far.

The design of Redmi 13 5G was shown in the company’s promotional video. The device has a clean, flat back and smooth edges, similar to its predecessor. There are three protrusions on the back: two for the camera sensors and one for the ring light. Redmi 13 5G will offer two color options: Light Blue and Light Pink, which come with a glass back.

The Redmi 13 5G is expected to have a large IPS LCD display, probably around 6.7 inches. This screen will offer enough room for watching videos or playing games, but it won’t offer as much contrast, color accuracy, or viewing angle as AMOLED displays. Fortunately, the device will feature Corning Gorilla Glass 3 to protect against drops.

Redmi Note 13 5G will be powered by Qualcomm Snapdragon 4 Gen 2 processor. This processor aims to offer a budget-friendly 5G experience. Although fast performance is not expected, it will be enough for daily tasks, light games and social media browsing. In terms of software, unlike the Redmi 12 5G, the new Redmi 13 5G will come with the company’s new HyperOS interface. RAM options will probably be 6GB or 8GB, and storage options will be 128GB or 256GB.

As for the camera system, the Redmi 13 5G is expected to offer a dual-lens setup. The main sensor will probably be around 50MP and will be accompanied by a macro or depth sensor. While it can take decent photos in good lighting conditions, one shouldn’t expect exceptional image quality or low-light performance. The front camera will be around 8MP and will be enough for basic selfies and video calls.

Redmi 13 5G will come with a 5030mAh battery, which will provide a day of usage on a single charge for most users. With moderate use, battery life can last up to two days. Additionally, the fast charging feature will be slightly improved by increasing it from 18W to 33W.

The price of the Redmi 13 5G has not been announced yet, but considering its features and Redmi’s budget-oriented approach, it is expected to be offered at a competitive price. It is thought to be available for an estimated price of around $150. It is said that this model will not go on sale in markets outside China and India, but may be rebranded as POCO M7 5G under the POCO brand.
