YouTube has shared its latest testing features that will soon be available for some channels. These features include AI-powered live chat summaries, Google Lens search, and QR codes for channels. It’s important to note that these new features will remain exclusive to a small group of users who are part of the YouTube experiment program and may not be available to the general public.
YouTube’s AI-powered live chat highlights will only work on English-language live streams and channels with “super active live chat conversations.” Eligible channels will receive a special banner at the top of the live chat with the option to summarize the comments section.
YouTube is also bringing Google Lens to the search bar. A small percentage of Android users will see a Lens button in the search bar, allowing them to search for content on the second most visited website worldwide.
Channel QR codes will allow creators to quickly and easily share their channels with others. Supported users will have the option to generate a QR code from their profile. YouTube Shorts is also getting a new Effects button that includes user-created effects to make short-form videos more engaging. YouTube has confirmed that Shorts Effects will be available to more users later this year.
These innovative features of YouTube aim to improve the user experience of the platform and increase interaction between creators and viewers. Live chat summaries will enable viewers to follow live broadcasts more easily, while channel QR codes will speed up the subscription process. The effects added for Shorts will contribute to making short videos more creative and entertaining.
