Burak Soylu: “Our Aim is to Make Istanbul the Web3 and Blockchain Center of the World”

The strategy meeting organized by DEİK/Digital Technologies Business Council Web3/Blockchain Committee to further advance the potential of Blockchain and Web3 technologies in Turkey was held in Istanbul on January 16, 2025. DEİK/Digital Technologies Business Council President Erdem Erkul, DEİK/Digital Technologies Business Council Web3/Blockchain Committee Chairman Burak Soylu and sector representatives attended the meeting.

Evaluating the current technological ecosystem, creating a vision for the future, and strategic steps for the future of blockchain and Web3 in Turkey were discussed.

Stating that DEIK will do its part in the committee’s work, Erkul said, “We hope that Turkey will progress successfully in the field of Web3/Blockchain.”

DEIK/Digital Technologies Business Council Web3/Blockchain Committee Chairman Burak Soylu stated that they aim to strengthen the ecosystem by making the best use of Turkey’s potential in blockchain and Web3 technologies, and that they aim to make Istanbul the Web3 and Blockchain center of the world in this field. Emphasizing that the Web3 Committee will undertake a critical task in this period when blockchain technology is intensively discussed all over the world, Soylu also drew attention to the vision of Istanbul Financial Center (IFM) to become the new center of the global financial world. Stating that Istanbul can be not only a financial center but also the blockchain capital of the world, Soylu underlined that the entire committee should work with a common vision for this purpose and said, “With this meeting, the biggest step towards this goal has been taken, providing a solid foundation for future collaborations and projects.” “A foundation has been created,” he said.
