At the I/O 2024 event held by Google last May, Google announced the artificial intelligence assistant called Project Astra. The news that followed revealed Samsung’s Project Moohan (meaning infinity in Korean) project from the merger of Google, Qualcomm and Samsung. Latest leaks show that Google may introduce Google Glass glasses soon.

Gemini-powered Google Glass may be introduced soon

Recently, Google introduced Gemini AI, a more advanced version of Gemini AI, to the world. The information revealed in the promotion is that Google Glass, which will support Gemini AI, which Google has been working on for a long time, may be introduced soon. When it was revealed recently that Qualcomm, Google and Samsung were collaborating on the Project Moohan project, many people thought that Google Glass had turned into Project Moohan. However, recent leaks show that Google Glass and Project Moohan may come as two separate products.

At the recent event where Google introduced Gemini 2.0, the company showed users a few features designed in AR/XR glasses. Additionally, Google also announced the Android XR platform that will power Project Moohan and Google Glass smart glasses.

Leaks show that Project Astra may play a big role in smart glasses with Gemini AI in both Google Glass and Samsung’s Project Moohan glasses. In the Gemini 2.0 promotion, many people say that the company uses its own Google Glass glasses. Users were divided on this issue on social media.

While some say that Google Glass was used, others claim that Project Moohan, led by Samsung, was used in the Gemini 2.0 promotion. There has been no statement from either Google or Samsung about this issue yet, but analysts say that the emergence of two different smart glasses is much more likely. Another prediction is that Samsung’s Project Moohan will be introduced first at the 2025 Unpacked event, and then Google Glass will be introduced at I/O 2025, which is planned to be held in May 2025.
