As we all know, with the new regulation published in the Official Gazette yesterday, the monthly customs exemption limit for products purchased from abroad was reduced from 150 euros to 30 euros, while the monthly customs exemption limit for products purchased from countries outside the European Union was reduced from 150 euros to 30 euros. customs duty increased to 60%. Thus, the era of shopping at affordable prices on platforms such as Aliexpress and Temu is virtually over.

Minister Bolat explained the purpose of the regulation in one sentence: “Our aim is not to create negative market losses for the producing segment.” and continued his explanations as follows:
“We requested additional budget support to exporters for the second half of the year. As global demand accelerates, exporters’ orders will increase. Our whole goal is to prevent unnecessary inflation of prices.”
